[comp.lang.pascal] Change active screen

Hi there

I am writing some programs that require a lot of printing on the screen.
To make this look faster than it actually is, I want to write to a non-active
screen then make it active.

What I need to know to do this is, how to write to a non active screen and 
how to make a non active screen active.

If anybody knows how to do this, can you please send me some code for
Turbo Pascal 5.5 to show me.
