CDCKAB%EMUVM1.BITNET@cunyvm.cuny.edu ( Karl Brendel) (11/16/90)
I recently repeated a report from a sysop on Borland's "RT" on GEnie. The report was that the Turbo Debugger 2.00 shipped previous to the Turbo Pascal 6.0 release was NOT compatible with TPas 6.0. (TD 2.00 shipped with TC++ Professional, with the "Tools" package, and with recent TPas 5.5 Professional.) A Borland tech support engineer has recently come forward to deny the report and clarify the matter. According to Borland: TD 2.00 IS compatible with TPas 6.0. TD 2.01 is shipping with TPas 6.0 Professional and is available as a maintenance upgrade for present TD 2.00 owners. [NB: I suspect that 2.01 is shipping now with TC++ Professional and the Tools package as well.] The changes from TD 2.00 to 2.01 are bug fixes involving [NB: only?] errors in reporting the values of MaxAvail and MemAvail. I am trying to determine whether the 2.00 to 2.01 bug fixes will be available as patch files or whether diskettes from Borland are required. Excuse me for having posted misinformation earlier. Again, I was repeating the report of a sysop reputed to be writing "for BORLAND". +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Karl Brendel Centers for Disease Control | | Internet: CDCKAB@EMUVM1.BITNET Epidemiology Program Office | | Bitnet: CDCKAB@EMUVM1 Atlanta, GA, USA | | ILink/RIME: KARL BRENDEL phone 404/639-2709 | | CIS : 73307,3101 fts 236-2709 | | GEnie: K.BRENDEL Home of Epi Info 5.0 | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+
