arcarese@andromeda.rutgers.edu (John C Arcarese) (02/03/91)

I am looking for the database toolbox for
turbo pascal. So I can use Indexed files.
	Any information would be helpful.

Inside Turbo Pascal v2 #7-9 contains a series of short pieces on
creating and using dBase format files from Turbo Pascal. They're
very well written and fairly comprehensive. They also include
source code for a few handy routines.
ITP is available through The Cobb Group (800) 223-8720.

(Note: I have no affiliation with The Cobb Group other than reading
a few of their publications.)

I've been using the SkipJack routines from Max Software Consultants to
work with dbase files in TP 5.5

These routines had some problems when they first came out but the latest
release is working perty well for me (they have a BBS to distribute free
upgrades to registered users)

(I have been having a problem getting the index routines to work in
TP 6.0 though ... specifically dp_evaluate seems to lock up once in a while)

You may also want to consider Topaz (sorry, can't recall the company). It
has nice/simple access to dBase files and a great many input/output routines
that are similar to dBase commands/functions (if that's useful for you).
