I have found Timo's assistance to be extremely valuable. His services, in the form of his technical knowledge and his utilities, are something which should be respected, not discredited. Timo has personally answered every question that I have asked (about 4 or 5). From following the list, it seems that he does this for everyone. As far as I can tell, his answers are accurate. Who could possibly ask more of someone who freely volunteers time to assist those who want help? Generic "form responses" are certainly acceptable for someone who offers so much. If these responses mean that the questioner then has to do a little work to get the solution, the so be it! The questioner will remember the solution and know where to look for future solutions. There is one feature which I think might be useful if it were added to this discussion. I'm not very familiar with how USENET works, but at my site and probably many others, we get mail messages. Unfortunately for new users though, they do not benefit from prior discussion on the lists because they don't have the messages. I think that it would be helpful if a mail message were sent to new subscribers which pointed out things like file lists that are out there, archives archives of Pascal things, etc. The archiving of the discussion is mentioned, but I don't know of any index into the discussion. Making an index readily available might be particularly useful if instructions were provided to every new user on how to access and use the index when they first subscribe. Anyway, it's just an idea. Timo has my highest regards and has done a very fine job, in my opinion. This discussion would lose a lot if he were not participating. Jim.
