Can anyone explain these two problems to me? First, the simtel computer
seems to be very ambivalent about whether or not it understands the "pwd"
command, as this session fragment shows:
ftp> pwd
500 I never heard of the PWD command. Try HELP.
ftp> help
Commands may be abbreviated. Commands are:
! cr macdef proxy send
$ delete mdelete sendport status
account debug mdir put struct
append dir mget pwd sunique
^^^
Second, it won't let me download files, e.g.:
ftp> get ZWP.ZIP
ZWP.ZIP: Permission denied
Any help would be appreciated.

But in the meanwhile one relevant piece of information. Simtel20 archives are not on a Unix machine, like perhaps most of the other anonymous ftp archives.
