I am looking for a reference to the packing density for phospholipids and fatty acids in membranes. I.e., the number of molecules per surface area. I am primarily interested in cardiac sarcolemma and capillary endothelial cell membranes, but any references would be useful. Also, if anybody knows of a more recent reference than Langmuir, 1938 for whole ares of a membrane flipping I would appreciate knowing about it. This wholesale flipping would also seem to address sidedness issues so that any mention of protein or phospholipid sidedness changes would also come under this request.
