What is the current state of research now that the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has identified the gene that causes Duchennes Dystrophy? Are any computer simulations being done to focus on the cure for MD? Is anyone applying fractal theory or knot theory and the power of the computer to analyze the possibilities? What about the effects of prostaglandins? Exercise, aspirin and primrose oil seemed to have positive effects on the muscles. Motrin, an aspirin substitute with "ibuprofean" had a very negative effect. A high protein, low carbohydrate diet and another time a gluten free diet were also promising. Is there any research going on in these areas? Thanks from a parent of an MD child!
