Greetings Netlanders! I am currently doing a chemistry research project on plastics. Essentially, I would like to make plastic compounds in a laboratory. However, I have only been able to find the recipe for one plastic - Lucite. Can anyone provide some references where I can find recipes for plastics that can be made relatively simply in the lab? I have access to a scanning electron microscope and a spectrophotometer and I would like to relate observable characteristics to the chemical structures of these plastics. Any tips and hints for gaining the maximum benefit out of these machines will be gratefully received. Finally, I would truly appreciate receiving any information about references regarding plastics and their characteristics (ie biodegradability, flexibility, strength, etc) Thank you very much in advance.
