I am currently working with Ruth King, a linguistics professor at York University, Toronto, on her socio-linguistic research project on Acadian French. Since the majority of her work is manipulating texts, she is looking for a concordance program. Most of her colleagues use the Oxford Concordance Program (OCP), so this is by far her first choice. York University has a copy of the OCP for the VAX, but since VAX accounts are assigned politically by department here, she cannot have access to one of these machines. The York Computing Services department has offered her a UNIX account provided she can find a copy of the OCP to run on UNIX. Here's where we need help. Is there a version of the Oxford Concordance Program for UNIX, and if so, how and where could we get it? How much does it cost? etc. Please send any information you have (via e-mail or paper-mail) to either Ruth or me at the addresses below. Thanks in advance!
