[sci.lang] IPA font in public domain?

pws1@quads.uchicago.edu (peter william shoemaker) (11/07/90)

Does anyone out there know of an IPA (International Phonetics Association
or something like that) font that is in the public domain or freeware?
Basically, what I want is a font which gives me all the phonetic symbols
in French and English.

If anyone knows of one, I'd appreciate an e-mail message (or if you'd like,
just send me a bin-hexed thingamajigger with the font).

I forgot to mention that this is for the Mac.

Thanks.

Not exactly what you want, but there is a KK phonetic font,
ftp-able from sumex-aim.stanford.edu
in /info-mac/font/kk-phonetic.hqx
There are some README files in /info-mac/help. Lots of goodies there.
