[*urp*] Yes, There are some songs the Dead don't play... usually songs which they don't like, or really didn't turn out the way they intended. For example, on the albumn FROM THE MARS HOTEL there are two horrible songs, one is "Loose Lucy" , the other is "Money Money" (one of the most SEXist songs the Dead ever did... so they WON'T play it live). Bob Weir said sometime around 1977 "A couple of folks in the band didn't thing it was as funny as I did... Didn't thing it was funny at all, so we just put that one away". There are also many reasons why it takes so long to bring back some of the old songs. One main reason is that there's a different keyboard player than when those old songs were performed, and just picking up a song and playing it without having the right feeling just isn't the Dead's style. I've got FRONT ROW TICKETS TO THE CENTRUM SHOWs... I can't wait (no, they're not for sale). always me, dan (DEC E-NET) noname::cernese or cadzoo::cernese (UUCP) {decvax, ucbvax, allegra}!decwrl!rhea!cadzoo!cernese (ARPA) decwrl!rhea!cadzoo!cernese@Berkeley decwrl!rhea!cadzoo!cernese@SU-Shasta
