[sci.math] References wanted

I am looking for any and all references that deal with mappings from
multisets to elements of the multiset domain. Even references which deal
with ordinary sets would be helpful. I.e.:

We define M(S) = set of all multisets consisting of elements in S. I am
interested in the mappings f: M(T) --> T

Are any of you mathematicians out there familiar with anything written on
this subject?

Thanks,

This is an extremely broad subject. If the sets you are dealing with
are finite, try anything under "combinatorics".
