[sci.math] Symmetry, Tessellation, Geometry, Software/References

c3ar@daisy.uchicago.edu (Walter C3arlip) (06/07/89)

The University of Chicago is giving a course in symmetry,
plane tessellation, and geometry to talented junior high school
students this summer. I have volunteered to provide some
computer supplements to the class material and have access
to a MacIntosh Lab.

Does anyone out there know of any educational software that
would be useful for this purpose? Has anybody written any
software that will display plane tessellations and allow students
to experiment with symmetry?

Along the same lines, I'd be interested in recommendations of
books, articles, and other materials that might be of use for
this course.

Thanks.
