[sci.math] Official Call for Votes: comp.dsp

 Followups directed to news.groups.]

I have posted the Official Call for Votes for comp.dsp. Please read
all about it in news.announce.newgroups. If you can't find the Call
for Votes, you can reply to this message, and I will send it to you.

There has been some concern over what prefix (sci or comp) this group
should really be under. I am going with comp because my mailbox tells
me that this is the right thing to do. However, in my mind, it really
could fit in both spots quite easily.

Don't be scared off because this group is sitting in comp. The groups
charter specifies that theory is to be discussed here as well as the
hardware itself. I suppose we could really have both comp.dsp and
sci.dsp, but this is unprecedented and is bound to lead to confusion,
as what is the worth of talking about dsp hardware if you don't bring
in dsp theory?

It looks like there will be enough room for both the hardware and
software people, as well as those who wish to discuss theory. If
there is a problem, we can split off groups later, if the volume
warrants. But lets give comp.dsp a try, first.

Thank you for your support.
