[net.music] Aging Hippie Music

rcd@opus.UUCP (Dick Dunn) (09/15/84)

The following list of classic rock albums is derived from a project, which
someone dubbed the "aging hippie project", to put together a bunch of tapes
of the best rock music of years gone by. I've modified the list somewhat
to get rid of the "best of..." albums we were using for sources and I've
added a few somewhat recent albums--though I think that even those have
stood the test of a few years.

The list is admittedly weak in a few areas--for example, no Zappa or
Creedence. This is due to culling out collections and is also influenced
by certain tastes. Still, give it a try. I've tried not to let my
DeadHeadedness show through very much.

There are 90 albums total. "*" marks 36 which are both particularly good
and seminal in rock development. (And yes, I'd welcome mail on this list.)
