The following exchange was in sci.math, but its essence is applicable to many other groups. I'm redirecting the topic to news.misc. | Would people PLEASE make these very simple corrections via e-mail? It | would really help cut down on the clutter in these newsgroups. > What is obvious to you (or I, for that matter) may not be so simple or > obvious to someone else ... Not everyone who reads this newsgroup is a > mathematician, you know. ... People should STILL please make these very simple corrections, or for that matter even moderately un-simple ones, via e-mail. And in that e-mail they should ask the ORIGINAL POSTER to post a followup with the correction. If everyone does this, then we have to read only 2 articles, and everything is clean and simple. A person who posts an article should be willing to act as a moderator for followups to it. -- Mark Brader, Toronto "Those who mourn for 'USENET like it was' should utzoo!sq!msb remember the original design estimates of maximum msb@sq.com traffic volume: 2 articles/day" -- Steven Bellovin This article is in the public domain.
