And did you believe T'pau -- wearing LIPSTICK? The Vulcan ceremony was the most ridiculuous thing I've seen in a long time. Remember that the Vulcans were once one of the most barbaric, illogical races in existance. Many of their old ceremonies and traditions simply stayed with them, perhaps as a means of remembering what perils such barbarism and illogic brings -much like the Jewish tradition - "Remember what so and so did to you" etc.. so it would not happen again. Surely there is no logic to the ceremony, but it is something so ancient and so personal to the Vulcans, that not even they can clearly justify its existance...
