~The Bill allows students from China to remain in the US until the situation
~in China has improved. The entire congress unanimously approved the bill
~but President Bush intends to pocket-VETO it. If he does, the students will
~have to go back to China and they will be tried and possibly executed.
~Please go to the ASUO office (Suite 4, EMU) on Thursday or Friday and use
~their phones to call DC. Tell Bush's secretary that you want him to approve
~the bill. Talk to him if you can. PLEASE! The lives of Chinese students
~in the US, 43,000 of them, are at your mercy! Thank you!

I know you probably can't make it to the U of O to use our phones to make
the call, but please use your own. If you were at all alive during the
horror at Tianamen (sp?) square, you know the importance of this call.
