ABOUT SPECIAL EFFECTS
A film makers' workshop on special effects, featuring talks and film
presentations by artists and supervisors from Industrial Light and Magic,
a division of Lucasfilm Ltd., will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 23
at Indian Valley Colleges in Ignacio.
The event, sponsored by the Marin Arts Council, is open to the public. An
enrollment fee will be charged. Information on enrollment is available at
the arts council offices, 251 North San Pedro Road, San Rafael, CA. 94903.
Scheduled to discuss their contributions to the "Star Wars" films,
"Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," "Star Trek: In Search for Spock,"
among other productions, will be special effects art director David
Carson, ILM general manager Warren Franklin, visual effects photographer
Mike McAllister, animation supervisor Charlie Mullen, chief matte artist
Michael Pangrazio and model shop supervisor Lorne Peterson.
