Does anyone know anything about the group BuckFizz who does the song "I Hear Talk"?, a very popular number at my local dance hangout and also at the Palladium in NYC, judging from the ecstatic squeals that greeted it last time I was there. The song is mostly remarkable for its unusually imaginative use of dynamic gradations, an aspect of sound completely unexploited by most of pop music. The effect achieved in the song is that of a hypnotic rollercoster, a feeling that was intensified by the lightshow man at the Palladium who varied the lighting from very low to daylight brightness, reflecting the song's varying moods. All I know is the group's name, shouted at me by the local DJ. I have not been able to locate the 12" version of the song in local record stores which are always out of it, and I couldn't find trace of any album by the group. I'd be interested in hearing any additional information anyone might have on them. --Charles B. Francois {...,decvax}!yale!francois
