Regarding the on/off switching of CRT's, I have the following questions: 1) Is any research done on this area? 2) Is it ever investigated how harmful it is to switch CRT's on and off? It is evident that the on/off switching of CRT's shortens their lifespan. It it also evident that keeping them switched on (but dimmed when not in use) shortens their lifespan. 3) Which of the two options maximizes the lifespan? 4) If the second option results in the longest lifespan, is it worth the power used by the CRT? (A typical CRT uses about 330 W) Andre -------------------------------------------------- Andre S.E.
