-------------- In reference to the articles on intercepting Space Telescope transmissions, I recently received fund-raising materials from a group called the Independent Space Research Group. They are trying to build an Amateur Space Telescope, along the lines of the AMSAT amateur radio satellites. The instrument they describe would be an 18" Cassegrain telescope with 2 solid state cameras, a small spectrograph, plus command and control hardware. They hope to launch this in the next few years. It is claimed that anyone with ~$400 worth of equipment could receive transmissions from the telescope, and display them. For anyone interested in more information, here is their address: Independent Space Research Group, Inc. P.O. Box 23083 Rochester, N.Y. 14692 I got this info from their fund-raising materials, so if anyone has more knowledge about the credentials of this group, I would appreciate hearing about it. ========== Bill Jensen CASE Communications Inc.
