[sci.astro] StarChart ver#2 software updates: postscript

ccount@royal.mit.edu (Craig A. Counterman) (12/21/87)

In postscript, the new lshow is very slow, though occasionally worth it.
I recommend that you not make it the default, just edit the file to use it
instead when you want to make a final print.

Also, the posted version is not great. A better version is:
/lshow {true charpath gsave 1 setgray 1 setlinewidth stroke grestore fill} def

I recommend that you edit starpost.c accordingly.

There are more changes in the works; if you use postscript and have suggestions
or ideas, please write to me before putting any work into it.

Thanks,
Craig

Might work better: ccount%royal@athena.mit.edu
UUCP: ... mit-eddie!royal.mit.edu!ccount (MAYBE)
BITNET: ccount%royal.mit.edu@MITVMA.BITNET (or something like that)
