One of the best "honors" to previous films was the casting of Lee Chan, Charlie's Number One Son (Keye Luke) as the Chinese Grandfather; this gives us a hint as to where the furry critter came from ... either Egypt or Shanghai in 1935. (Where was Indiana Jones when Charlie found the mummy with the bullet in it?) On an unrelated topic, Howard Hughes' 1930 epic Hell's Angels floated by on cable... SFX fans may want to look it up for some of the best build-a-model-and-blow-it-up effects ever done...plus fantastic (live) flying scenes, Jean Harlow slipping into something more comfortable, high mellerdrammer and the Red Baron.
