ANNOUNCEMENT

The Canadian Space Society will be holding its March meeting
on Tuesday the 14th, at 7:30 P.M., in room 252 of the Education
Centre building, at 155 College Street in Toronto (south side
of College, just west of University Avenue). At the meeting,
Professor Peter Hughes of the University of Toronto Institute
for Aerospace Studies will be giving a talk.

Professor Hughes' area of research is the dynamics and control
spacecraft, especially of structurally flexible spacecraft.
He has done consulting work, over the years, on most spacecraft
that Canada has put into orbit; this includes developing a
flexible-body analysis of the Space Shuttle's Canadarm, for use
by Spar Aerospace when they were designing the Canadarm's
control system. Accordingly, he will present a history of
Canada's space program, from the perspective of his career.

The Canadian Space Society is a non-profit group based in Toronto,
and has held monthly meetings since 1982, for people interested
in developing space. All interested in attending our meetings are
welcome, free of charge. Refreshments will be served (also free
of charge!). If you are interested in joining the CSS, or in hearing
more about it, please let me know via email.
