[sci.space] Liquid-metal/Gas electric generator

crp002@muvms3.bitnet (02/09/91)

A few weeks ago I was watching the discovery channel late one night eating
popcorn and drinking my beer after a long days work and I saw an extremely
interesting episode of Beyond 2000, an australian produced show on new
technology. On of the episodes spots was on a liquid-gas electric generator
that pumped a liquid metal up a pipe by bubling a gas through it much like
a fish tank filter uses. Then the gas was allowed to escape and the mtal flowed
back down another pipe through a magnetic field, generating current. Kind of
a gravity/potential energy generator. This was being done somewhere in Isriel.
The commentator also stated that NASA was interested since the mechanism had
no moving parts. The show was about 4 years old and my questions are:
   1) Did anything ever come of this?
   2) Did NASA ever work on it or plan to work on it?
   3) Is anyone anywhere working on it?
and
   4) Does anyone know of any published material on this?

						Thanks.
