Frederik Pohl and Jack Williamson, @i(The Farthest Star) Ballantine '75 and @i(Wall Around A Star) Ballantine '83. I haven't found the story in Analog I was looking for, but here is a consolation prize. Ray Brown, "A Change of Employment", Analog August '82. There is a sequel, far better than this story, but I didn't find it in the few minutes before leaving home this morning. I will continue searching. Andy Vesper
