I'm considering writing some simple C programs for keeping
track of stock market investments, and I wonder if anyone
has already done this. Specifically, the package would let me:
- enter transactions (stock, price per share, number of shares,
buy or sell, amount of commission)
- allow me to query what I made or lost on a given company
- produce summaries based on calendar year disposition, for
income tax purposes
- show stock market holdings, either current or on any given past date
and other such useful things.
Doubtless there are PC packages around that do most of what
I want, but I don't use a PC. Anyway, I want something with
source, since I need to add some features for my Canadian tax
purposes (features even other Canadians won't need). If anyone's
writen their own package, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
