There is currently strong pressure from the recording industry to require
"protective" chips in the DAT recording machines imported into the US. Teh
first recorders are to arrive in teh fall so it should happen soon if at all.
Does anyone know how this will affect future DAT backup systems ?
disks ?
What effect will it have on those currently producing tape backup systems ?
