I've already written one article, but I though I'd respond to this too.

I won't repeat myself about my children be independent, etc., etc.

However, good night sleep - yes:
I think everyone should get a good night's sleep too. The only
problem with this is "who will comfort the child?" Could not the "let him
cry it out phase" be the cause of a dependent, clinging child. He/she hasn't
gotten what he/she needed the most and doesn't want to leave mom/dad. No
one has a right answer, but it is a thought to think about.

Also, our children are small for such a short time and the time goes by
so quickly - before we know it they will be gone. (I'm experiencing
this now with my 6 year old who started first grade - she's receiving notes
and presents for a little boy who says he loves her - I can just imagine
what to come in 8-10 years - I can glimpse into the future and see what
it will be like.) We should cherish the time that they need us, because
it doesn't last long. I've decided to give my kids want they need now, whether
they have problems sleeping or anything else. They may need me later
(at 16 or before) and I want them to know I'll be there.

Life as a couple - YES!!!!!

Our children sleeping with us never caused a problem. As a matter a fact,
it made it more exciting, because we found new and interesting places to
"play." :) We also plan that every 6 weeks, we find a baby sitter and
spend a night alone with the whole place to ourselves (although when I
was nursing this couldn't work).

Of course, I'm know expert and I may get flamed, but isn't "parenting"
about sacrifice!
