This kind of message may make the traffic heavy, but I decided to pass this info to others, because I was satisfied with the 2400 Baud modem from CompuCom Corp. Here's the story.. I bought a modem directly from them last August because several people in the net recommneded/praised their cost/ performance ratio. But since the first day it arrived, it was interrupted misteriously and randomly during transmissions. Personally I had been using Hayes 1200B modem and did not experience any such unpleasant incidents, but the speed was so remarkable, I decided to keep the modem after 30 days money-back-guarantee period. After having used the modem more than 3 months (with KERMIT), I could not be satisfied with the random interruption and decided to call CompuCom Corp. What I expected was cold customer support once a product was sold. After 1 min's conversation, a gentleman courteously offerred me a replacement, and he said it will be here within two weeks. But behold, it arrived my place after 4 days with UPS BLUE. I was impressed before opening the box and have had no problem since then. [end of happy store] Of course, I have no connection whatsoever with the company and, as they say in America, I am just a very satisfied customer. [standard claim] Their order phone number is (800) ACT-ON-IT.

I also had a problem with a CompuComm 2400 bps modem and they were very nice about supplying a replacement. The parts count on the new models is amazing (very low). -- Jon Zeeff zeeff@b-tech.ann-arbor.mi.us Support ISO 8859/1 zeeff%b-tech.uucp@umix.cc.umich.edu Ann Arbor, MI umix!b-tech!zeeff
