According to the _Bottom Line Personal_, Vol. 12, No. 4, Feb 28, 1991:

    _Telephone calls:_  AT&T is cutting long-distance prices an average 
    of 1% for direct-dialed state-to-state calls.  Weekday rates (8 a.m.
    to 5 p.m.) will be cut by 2%.  

Amazing!  How can they afford to do that with all that nasty advertising?
