Employment Opportunity: MEMBER OF THE TECHNICAL STAFF *** SOLID MODELING - 3D GRAPHICS *** HEWLETT PACKARD LABORATORIES We are looking for a MS (or PhD) graduate in the Solid Modeling area with expertise in surface modeling algorithms. Your expertise would be used to enhance the function of present- ly available modelers. This work would also be used in conjunc- tion with computer image synthesis efforts to provide a high performance 3D design environment. The candidate should have experience in applications of Solid Modeling such as finite- element mesh generation, robotics, interference analysis or mechanical representation & simulation. Programming experience in image synthesis algorithms such as hidden surface removal or ray tracing would also help qualify this person. The applicant should have surface representation, solid modeling, geometric modeling, linear algebra, graphics, algorithms and programming course work or experience. Our programming environment consists of UNIX[1] operating systems with C, Pascal, Fortran and LISP programming languages. Our display systems are state-of-the-art graphics accelerators with 28 bits/pixel and resolutions of 1280*1024. We are located at Hewlett Packard's corporate research Labs in Palo Alto, California adjacent to Stanford University.
