Re: headaches from caffeine withdrawal, somebody thinks it takes 4 days to get unhooked. I withdrew once (gave up smoking at the same time, wanted to reduce the linkage, as it were), and I had a migraine-type headache that was unresponsive to any analgesic I could readily get (ibuprophen was not yet available, so I can't say about it), and (the killer-diller) it lasted for three weeks! It was real agony, that I can say for sure. I don't know about the technical aspects of the detoxification (if that's the right word; Craig will know), but I do know I was plenty sick, unable to work, read, get undisturbed sleep, and (predictably) cross as hell. Since I'm once again addicted, I've been thinking about getting off, and my guess is the least painful way is to mix decaf into the brew by increasing proportions over the course of three months or so.
