Using dental floss can be a hassle if you have a small mouth. Several weeks ago I got some floss stuck between a crown and an adjacent tooth. I broke *yards* of both waxed and unwaxed dental floss trying to free the caught floss -- literally a half-hour's worth of futile effort -- until I realized that brushing my teeth with warm water had probably caused the crown to expand in the first place. Some ice on the crown, then, and the gap was once again wide enough to floss out. I know that this posting is almost suitable for what used to be net.bizarre, but it is meant seriously! I have used this trick several times since. Any dental hygenists out there can pass it along to patients with crowns and too many teeth for their mouth, like me ... -- -- Phil Pfeiffer ...!{harvard,ihnp4,seismo,topaz}!uwvax!pfeiffer (608) 262-0765
