We have need for computing the value of a 2-D distribution from
projection data - popularly known as computerized tomography. This
has been done in th emedical field for many years, and the problems
we will be addressing coorespond exactly to CAT scans. What we need
is a package that will take our projection data and give us the
density function of the area projected. We could write this
ourselves, but to do it well requires delving deeply into the
mathematical theory and other things that are not directly related
to what we are trying to do. So... if anyone knows of a package that
would do anything like what we want to do, please respond!
