A while back a few people asked if Rod Serling ever actually started an episode of the Twilight Zone with the words, "Submitted for your approval...". Well, last night I saw an episode named "Cavender is coming", starring Carol Burnett as a klutzy-but-lovable woman named Agnes Grep (!) who gets a bumbling guardian angel (Jesse White, the Maytag repairman) for a day. The show started with "those" immortal words. It definitely was not your typical TZ episode, and even had a laugh track! While I'm on the subject of TZ, I never cease to be amazed by the quality of stars appearing on the series. Hardly a show goes by that doesn't star an actor/actress who made it big later on. How did this happen? Did Serling just have a knack for picking rising stars, or were they already starting to be famous, or did appearing on TZ give their careers the "boost" to get them going? Does anyone know? Gary Fritz {inhp4,hplabs}!hpfcla!fritz

Strange coincidences! The very next night's episode ALSO started with "Submitted for your approval...". Unfortunately, I only saw the first few minutes of it, so I can't describe the plot. These are the only episodes I've seen that start with "the" phrase. Gary Fritz
