i'll admit i've seen Michael "doc" Friedman make a valid point or two during his many terabytes of postings, but i really love the subject line he is appearing under lately. how appropriate! (anyone bored enough to follow up this stuff, be sure to edit those followup lines. please keep civil postings out of alt.flame). below, Michael tells us how the Iran hostages could have been freed: in <3637@bloom-beacon.MIT.EDU> lazarus@cloud9 (Michael Friedman) knows: !we should have immediately declared war. That would have let the Iranians !know we were serious. We should have handed them target lists !describing what would happen if our people were hurt or killed. And a !LARGE naval task force should have headed towards Iran. !The rest would have been up to Allah. wrong, silly putty. it would have been up to a bunch of whacked out Iranian hezbollahs. and -- he's your Allah too, if you are the least bit Judeo-Christian. that doesn't mean you have to face east, Mike... at ease.
