There have been various claims about the (in)security of DES, with the claim of possible key clustering being one of the most severe. Has anyone done any work with other Feistel ciphers (different P & S boxes, different key schedules or key lengths, etc.)? In particular, does IBM (or Feistel himself) have any patents on this ciphering scheme in general? Thanks, -- Clayton M.
