While talking with a potential supplier of some hardware, the supplier's sales representative mentioned using some particular pieces of equipment as a "red switch, ... or orange switch or purple switch, depending on [our particular] needs." I think I understand the notion of a red switch, but being that the true foundations of communications security are outside my realm of expertise, might anyone here speculate on what an orange or purple switch is?
