I was going thru the brochures of two Pre-press systems for color magazine use. One is Networked Picture Systems' Page Express. The other is TECHEX's FULL COLOR PUBLISHER. One uses an Intel chip based device for image manipulation and then output to devices like plotters, film recorders etc. the other uses a Silicon Graphics Personal Iris workstation. Would appreciate recommendations/ comments regarding these systems and views on how good a Mac II fx based system would be for similar high quality color pre press work. Thanks for your info. I've used Full Color Publisher on a personal Iris, and I had two impressions: 1. Photoshop on an fx is faster that FCP on a PI! 2. Photoshop has about three times as many image editing functions as FCP. I haven't used the other package, though. If I were you, I'd go with the Mac. -John Knoll
