I am about to replace an old CPM machine with something a bit more modern. I use a BBC micro (US Model B) in my office and have found it at least as good as the various IBM-clones that we have here. The new BBC-Archimedes is likely to be available in Canada (from Olivetti) in January and I am wondering whether I should wait until they are available rather than going for an IBM clone. I would like to hear from users (most likely in the UK) about the Archimedes. How good is it? Will it run most BBC Model B software? Will the port of UNIX to the machine really be available by next spring? Is the IBM emulator out yet?
