I have been asked to formulate a plan to automate a telemarketing operation. This is supposed to include everything from office procedures and lead/salesman assignment to culling the electronic world for leads and data sources. I would be interested in any advice/suggestions/warnings that the net could provide. In particular, does anyone know of a directory (national or regional) of public/private on-line databases ? As usual, Thanks in advance. jms ----------- Jack Stephens jack ---\ Digital Technology Resources bert ------> wzlr!jms Cardiff, CA 92007 berick -/

You might be interested in a book I came across called: "The computer Data and Database Source Book" written by Matthew Lesko who also wrote a book "Information USA" It is published by AVON books (C) 1984 This book is 900 pages long and lists MORE than one online database per page. Many of the databases are run by special interest groups or industry sectors. Some are accessed through DIALOG, TELENET, or direct dial. It is really surprising how much is available on-line. The book was published in 1984, which makes it out of date now, this means only that there are probably a lot more databases that are not in the book. Unfortunately the book is out-of-print, and I do not know of a newer book that replaces it. We managed to find a couple copies at a local bookstore a couple of months ago. You might find oaround. I hope this is useful, Keith Swenson
