Notice, rlr, that I have refrained (with some difficulty) from saying "art-jazz-poetry FAGGOTS." After lengthy consideration I decided that it is the "wimp" aspect of "faggot" which is really at issue, rather than the "faggot" aspect of "wimp", (which is what the slavish, vapid new-age moralists out there always get all wazzed out about out of it when one says "art-jazz-poetry-etc.-faggot"...) Anyway... Verbal Abuse is hardcore at its hardest. They played up here with Die Kreuzen, who are of the same genre. Kick ASS! Also, there's a couple of EXCELLENT local bands, Poison Idea and Final Warning, who played with them. Both bands have albums or EPs coming out (Poison Idea already has one 7" EP). I bought Die Kreuzen's album from them at the concert. Verbal Abuse's album is out of print and no longer available and I am really pissed. Anyway... Die Kreuzen is essentially done with their tour, but Verbal Abuse has sort of just started theirs, so here's your chance. Oct. 12 Olympia, Washington (NOTE - they're NOT playing Seattle) Oct. 13 Victoria, B.C. Oct. 14-19 Wankouver, B.C. in various places Oct. 20 Edmonton Oct. 21 Calgary Oct. 25-26 Winnipeg Oct. 27 Minneapolis, with the Butthole Surfers! Oct. 28 Madison Nov. 2 Oshkosh, with Die Kreuzen and the Dead Kennedys!! (you lucky fuckers...) Nov. 3 Milwaukee, at "Irene J's" (?) Nov. 4 Czechago Nov. 7 Peoria - at a skate ramp! Nov. 9 Champagne, Ill. Nov. 10 Bloomington, Ky. Nov. 11 Louisville, Ky. Nov. 15 Lexington, Ky. Nov. 16 Cincinnati Nov. 17-22, 4 Michigan dates TBA but will include Detroit & Ann Arbor Nov. 23 Cleveland Nov. 24 Kent, Ohio That's as far ahead as they had tour dates planned, but the tour will go on to cover the the rest of the country. Somebody else out there (besides the hordes of worthless contest-posters and trivia-dribblers) ought to be willing to get an updated itinerary. They're playing with BGK in New York, and if they've made enough money by the time they get to New York to afford plane fare, BGK is going to take them on tour with them in Europe. Anybody who gets a chance to see BGK and misses it, by the way, is not worth the shit they're stamped out of.
