[misc.wanted] Using extended memory

kpk@mtuxo.att.com (XMPA5-K.KRETSCH) (07/18/88)

I'm looking for information, advice, and even software that I can use
to access expanded memory on a PC/AT compatible system through MS/DOS.
You see, I'm working on an PC application that needs lots of memory,
but doesn't have any room in its A000-FFFF memory range for expanded menory.
There are expanded memory emulators that use extended memory, and I
could use those, but I'm concerned about performance, so I may want to
talk directly to the extended memory. As I understand it there is limited
extended memory support in MS/DOS through BIOS call 15h.

Does any one have any experience that they could pass on? Better still,
does anyone have any appropriate software that they would be willing to put
in the public domain? Thanks to anyone who can pass on wisdom/code.
