Hi there!!
Is there anyplace that maintains any sort of blue book
on what prices should be for used laserprinters? Places like
the Boston and New York Computer Exchanges don't seem to list
them with the other "big items" in the reviews I read. Specifically,
I'm lookng for average prices on used Laserwriters (note that's
laserwriters, not just laserwriter pluses) as I'm looking to
upgrade to a postscript machine from my trusty AST Turbolaser
laser printer.
If anyone has any sort of ballpark figures--or knows of
some mail order or retail establishment that handles such things,
I'd be most appreciative. With the price of laser printers and
postscript steadily dropping, there must be market for older machines.
Lastly, anyone have any idea what the market value of an AST turbolaser
with the ricoh 4080 8 ppm engine and 19000 copies is worth?
I try to read all the groups, but I rarely succeed. E-mail would be

AST Turbo Lasers can be upgraded to AST Turbo Laser PS's . I use the PS version and am very happy with it. The ricoh engine has (IMHO) much better print quality. Cammington bought AST printer division, and should be able to supply an upgrade to a Turbo Laser ps or Turbo Laser PS+ (+ version includes some no PS emulations) /Tjp -Disclaimer remialcsiD (I take it all back boss)
