[net.sf-lovers] a vote against SFBC

Yes, the prices are good, but the quality of printing is bad: the covers are
about the cheapest I've seen in hardcovers (only surpassed by The Library of
America), the ink smears on the pages, and they smell funny.

Maybe there is a new flavor out now, but the times I've subscribed, I always had
to send in a card in order NOT to receive books. If they've changed this it
would be an improvement (at least for those times when you come back from
vacation to find you're going to receive books you'd never want).

Suggestion to those who are going to subscribe: look for an offer in non-SF
magazines or material. The offers in Omni or sunday paper supplements usually
will give you more books and goodies than the offer on the back of Analog (6+
books and a bag as opposed to ~4 books).

I no longer subscribe to SFBC, and I don't foresee subscribing again.
