[misc.wanted] Mac / Serial questions...

douglas@ddsw1.MCS.COM (Douglas Mason) (03/26/90)

Nobody seems to have any answers to this around here, if you can help, please
do.

I have a Mac II and have a Grappler LQ interface which is supposed to allows
(allow) you to hook up 24 pin and laser printers to your Mac and save you
the Big Bucks of getting an Imagewriter.

I hooked the thing up and later just had the intention of just using it in it's
own print mode, not in the graphics mode that is normally sent to it.

Microsoft Word has drivers for a "Serial Printer" and "Typewriter" which do
exactly what I want it to do, and it works fine. Problem is that I cannot
use those drivers for any other programs.

I have MacWrite (new version) which I bought, but that doesn't seem to have
any drivers for it for my needs.

Are there any drivers "out there" that I could use for running this printer
with all programs? I would sure like to get a hold of one. If you know of
one, have one, or know where it can be found -- hell, if you even know if
such a thing exists, I would sure appreciate an email note or a post!

Thanks in advance...

The typewriter driver in Microsoft Word is by GDT Softworks and is better
know as Mac-Daisy-Link. You can purchase a full working copy by giving GDT
a call at (604)291-9121.
