Some time ago, I posted a request for information concerning transferring files from a C64 to an IBM PC. One of the possibilities was to buy a later-model disk drive (5471, I believe) and a program called "Big Blue Reader" (I may have the name slightly wrong). At the time, this wasn't of much interest to me, but the situation has since become more urgent. So this is a request for further information and an offer to buy a 5471 drive and a copy of "Big Blue Reader". Here's the full situation: My aunt has a C64 and an "Enhancer 2000" disk drive. She'd like to move over to an IBM PC, but she has files amounting to several hundreds of pages of text. According to what I learned from my earlier request, she can attach a 5471 drive to her C64 and then use "Big Blue Reader" to copy files from the Enhancer 2000 to the 5471 and end up with a disk that a PC can read. REQUEST #1: If anything in the above paragraph is incorrect, or if there is some difficulty or additional information of which I am unaware, please send me e-mail outlining the problem. I don't want to expend effort chasing a solution that won't work or will be too esoteric for my aunt to follow. REQUEST #2: My aunt does not currently have either a 5471 or "Big Blue Reader". If you'd like to sell a 5471 or your copy of "Big Blue Reader" (with documentation), then send me e-mail. If you know of a commercial outfit that sells either or both, then I'd also appreciate hearing from you. I can be reached at srt@cs.ucla.edu and/or srt@aerospace.aero.org. I do not normally read comp.sys.cbm or misc.wanted, but I'll make some effort to follow this thread, so if you have something that you think might be of general interest, you can follow-up to this article.
