[misc.wanted] SCSI Tape backup software for Apple II

rankins@argentina (raymond r rankins) (08/24/90)

Well, I ordered a 3M SCSI tape drive from HSC ($129) and am expecting
it to arrive any day now.

The only problem now is, does anyone know of any freeware/shareware
SCSI tape backup software available for the Apple II/IIGS? The only
SCSI tape backup software I'm currently aware of is Tim Grams HDTape,
but I'm kinda short the $50 price tag right now, and he doesn't take
American Express :^).

I believe the tape drive only comes with a 30 day warrantee and I'd
like to make sure it all works properly right away in case I have
any problems with it.

How difficult would it be to write a utility to test the tape drive?
What references would I need? I have Orca/C and most of Apple's
published manuals.

Thanks in advance,
Ray
